Golden Temple

Harmandir Sahib sits low in the middle of its sarovar, so you walk down to it rather than up. Most visitors come for the gilded sanctum; locals come for the marble parikrama at odd hours, the sound of kirtan carrying over water, and the langar hall where thousands are fed every day.
